Denis Pollak -

Denis has over 39 years of experience sharing wastewater collection systems information throughout the industry. He has moderated and spoken at numerous CWEA conferences, NWEA Conferences as well as other water/wastewater organizations.  

Denis currently is with V&A Consulting Engineers where he is the Regional Manager for the Southwest. He spent over 30 years at the Leucadia Wastewater District starting out as a treatment plant operator and later became the District Superintendent and Capital Improvements Project Manager. 

He is one of the founding members of the CWEA Southern Section Collections System Committee. He participated in forming this committee in 1989 and has served as the Treasure, Vice Chair and Chair. He also coordinated the production of a Math Workbook for the Collection Systems Operators in 1993 and a Basic Collection System Operators Workbook in 1995. He has spent many years teaching Wastewater Collections Maintenance as well as Pump and Motors at two Colleges in the San Diego area.

Mark Hill, P.E. -

Mark Hill is a Civil Engineer and Project Manager with RBF Consulting.  He manages the Pipeline Assessment Group; evaluating collections systems and storm drain systems, providing hydraulic modeling, system analysis and design, master planning, and regulatory compliance.  He serves on the CWEA Southern Section Collections Committee and is the current Past President of the San Diego chapter.  He holds a Grade IV Collections Systems Certification and has taught collections system math throughout Southern California since 1998.
